NDA Questions Tejashwi’s Sports Award, Accuses Lalu of Political Manipulation

NDA leaders in Bihar raise questions on Tejashwi Yadav’s past achievements while accusing Lalu Prasad Yadav of diminishing political relevance. In a recently held NDA meeting in Gaya, Bihar, the alliance questioned the legitimacy of Tejashwi Yadav’s ‘Khel Kirti Award’ from 2003. JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar highlighted that Tejashwi, only 13 or 14 at the time, received the award alongside Paralympic medalist Babar Arafat. He demanded clarity on the criteria behind this recognition. During the press conference, NDA leaders emphasized their unity leading up to the 2025 Bihar assembly elections. Neeraj Kumar accused Tejashwi of sidelining his father, RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav, for personal gains, reducing him to a nominal figurehead. Additionally, Kumar alleged financial mismanagement within RJD, including salary scams and improper electoral bond transactions amounting to over ₹46 crore during a period of state prohibition. NDA representatives also highlighted the progress achieved under their governance, contrasting it with the “lawlessness” of Lalu’s tenure. They claimed central government support has bolstered Bihar’s development trajectory.

As Bihar gears up for elections, political tensions are escalating, with the NDA focusing on discrediting the opposition. The allegations against Tejashwi and Lalu Prasad Yadav are likely to dominate the political discourse in the coming months.
